‘Empowering women in the water‘ speaks almost as loudly as the sight of Emily’s logo on a wetsuit. What I admire about her project is that she’s chosen an area she is familiar with. Although admitting she is not particularly good at surfing, Emily gets inspiration from her own experience in the water, sensing that there is not enough femininity in the wetsuits currently on the market. She feels the need for innovations in colour palette and patterns and intends to include different panels and cuts in her designs.
Designing distinctive wetsuits, Emily is hoping to help women feel way more powerful and confident in the water both when they are breaking the waves or just swimming.
She considers some of her main competitor brands sportswear giants such as Roxy, Animal and Ron Jon, who also specialize in design and production of wetsuits, but unlike them, she has decided that her seasonal product ranges will exclusively focus on woman’s wetsuits and products to wear along with them.
Kind of curious to see the end result. 🙂
